Carbon Gear Automations, operated by Carbon Gear, LLC, is committed to making our website accessible to everyone — including people who use assistive technologies like screen readers, voice control, and keyboard navigation. Accessibility isn't a checklist item for us; it's part of building software that respects people.
We continuously review our site to identify and address barriers. When something falls short, we fix it. When we find room to do better, we do.
Standards We Follow
We target conformance with the following standards and guidelines:
WCAG 2.2 AA is our primary benchmark. It covers perceivability, operability, understandability, and robustness — the four principles that make content accessible across devices and assistive technologies.
Known Issues & Ongoing Improvements
An automated audit scored an earlier version of this site at 83% against WCAG 2.2 AA, with five colour-contrast failures. Those five are listed below, and all five are fixed.
That 83% describes the site before those fixes. We have not re-run a scored automated audit since, so we are not claiming a current number — the table below is what we changed and why, not a grade.

All five failures used the same root cause: our brand teal (#00897b) paired with white or near-white text fell just below the 4.5:1 minimum ratio for normal text. We resolved this by shifting to a slightly deeper teal (#00695c) that achieves 5.98:1 — without changing the overall brand palette.

What We're Doing
Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project. Here's how we approach it:
- Semantic HTML first — We use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, ARIA labels, and skip links to support screen reader users.
- Reduced motion support — Animations and transitions are automatically disabled for users who prefer reduced motion via their system settings.
When we launch new features or pages, accessibility testing is part of the definition of done — not an afterthought.
